Howie D. Mac A.K.A. “El Presidente” the producer, director, head writer, editor and driving force behind “OFF DA GRILL” started out as a d.j. making cassette tapes in the neighborhood and getting a reputation of being the first with the hottest new tunes. Then while doing that he came to also have another skill that of a break dancer and preformed at many shows in and out of town and there was no turning back the show biz bug had bit him. From there was no turning back he took every opportunity to get involved with the entertainment business he started to produce music for local artist and worked a record label and helped promote music for local and national artists. Later because of his out going personality and sense of humor Howie was approached to do a gospel play (Saints Aint’s And Wanna-Bees) and toured nationally With Demond Wilson and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Demond Wilson mentored him and showed him the ropes of acting and helped Howie polish his craft. Once again with his all or nothing attitude he dove in feet first and not only worked on his acting but directing and working behind the camera and video editing. Howie’s first project was supposed to be a documentary about all the craziness he saw in the neighborhood and all the real life characters he knows but it turned into something else what we now know as the cult classic “ OFF DA GRILL”. In the near future there are plans in the works to direct a movie starring some members of the cast and also do an entertainment show with celebrity interviews and news. The sky seems to be the limit for this talented man from the hood what happens next is anyones guess.
